The Cracow Klezmer Band (Poland)

A quartet of young virtuosos whose original, dynamic compositions and revealing arrangements make them one of the most interesting phenomena of the contemporary, radical trend of the revival of Jewish music. The band was formed in 1997 on the initiative of an excellent accordionist and arranger, Jarosław Bester. Initially, they played only traditional klezmer music, slowly reaching to various styles and trends. Inspired by authentic folk music, the band quickly achieved a homogeneous, immediately recognizable style and sound. The group has recorded two albums („De profundis”, „The Warriors”) recorded in the famous New York record publishing company, John Zorn's TZADIK. During this year's Jewish Culture Festival another concert of this formation took place, this time with the participation of Frank London.

Concert as part of the festival: July 21, 2002, 7:15 PM, Stage by the Town Hall, Teatr Ludowy
