Having collaborated with many leading African musicians, he is a significant figure on the global world music scene. Born Shiphton Onyango, he adopted the stage name Winyo, which means "bird" in the Luo language. The reason for this becomes clear when you hear his voice, often compared to a bird’s melody. His music is deeply influenced by the old benga style, which Winyo has revived with a modern twist while preserving the unique guitar style of legends like Ochieng’ Nelly and George Ramogi.

A wild ride—Suferi’s concert from the stage at the Jagiellonian University's Botanical Garden Palm House. Suferi represents the voice of tradition with a modern, often jazz-like twist. The musicians, with their fresh take on Polish tradition, draw on jazz, electronic sounds, Romanian, and hip-hop influences. The band consists of three young but already acclaimed musicians—Kacper Malisz, Andrzej Imierowicz, and Miłosz Berdzik..

Ruşan Filiztek knows music well enough to assert that the notion of "ethnic purity" is flawed. As the artist states, such a view of the traditions of Asia Minor overlooks the shared roots and blending of genres among Turks, Kurds, Armenians, Greeks, and ten other nations in the region, "visited by as many tragedies as joys." He understands that "traditions have diverged, but various musical styles from this region still connect."

Dakh Daughters from the Kleparz Fort stage. The group is composed of seven Ukrainian women. The band grew out of Kyiv’s experimental Dakh theater – their live performances blend elements of cabaret, punk, rock, and rap with Ukrainian folk music. The unbridled creativity of Dakh Daughters has made them one of the symbols of Ukraine's fight for democracy.
