Niwiński’s Family Band repertoire are primarily ancient oberkas, powiślaki, Radom mazurkas, polkas and kujawiaks, heard from rural eminent violinists and accordeon players in Mazovia. The repertoire of the band comes mainly from the south-eastern Mazovia and border Mazovia and Małopolska, particularly from Radom region. The musicians try to keep as many of the folk manners of their masters as possible, to obtain the energetic sound of old wedding bands. The music they play is spontaneous and free of arrangement, and above all, perfect for dancing.
