Lua Preta / Angola/Poland

Lua Preta (from the Portuguese, black moon) is definitely one of the most interesting projects on our electronic music scene. On the Polish side, it consists of the extremely experienced DJ and producer Mentalcut, who co-creates it with a vocalist from Luanda, performing under the stage name Ms. Gia.

It is the inspirations from Angola and South Africa that are the main theme of the duo’s music, which can be perfectly heard in their hit first single: “Melhor Vai Embora”. Lua Preta's resume also includes an EP with Greek label Shango Records, a performance at Unsound Festival, a collaboration with Lesotho-born vocalist Morena Leraba on the “Quero Mais” single and a video for “Ta Bater”, which was shot entirely in Lisbon. After their first foreign concert in December 2017 in Spain, Lua Preta are set to go on tour this year to conquer the rest of Europe, and they already have performances planned at festivals in Germany, France and Norway.
