Kroke (Poland)

 

Kroke is a word that means 'Krakow' in Yiddish. The band was formed in 1992 and very quickly gained the name of one of the most interesting folk formations, performing on major musical stages in Europe. Using traditional musical materials as the foundations to build original arrangements and improvisations and taking the experience in classical music and jazz, Kroke creates new, unique compositions, as well as sound unprecedented in Jewish music.
