Ablaye Badji / Senegal

 

Ablaye Badji was born in Ziguinchor in Senegal in the famous family of griots (musicians) - Cissokho. Surrounded by the cultural wealth and music of his ancestors, Ablaye began his musical education by exploring the secrets of playing traditional instruments such as djembe, bark, sabar, seourouba.

 

As a professional musician he plays all over the world. He is the founder of The Badji Band. He is not only a performer, but also a great creative teacher. Ablaye specializes in transmitting traditional rhythms in a way that his students learn them in an atmosphere filled with joy.
