An artist balancing on the edge of film and classical music, jazz, ethno, roots, open improvisation.
Concert of Freedom / Stage of Freedom:
The concert is organized as a part of the Malopolska programme. My Freedom - with financial support from the Małopolska Region.
The concert "One World" is a part of the plan, building the World Orchestra; it is a musical journey full of space, subtle emotions and magic. Music is described by critics and listeners as the language of the soul that we all subconsciously know, the beauty of which is able to move everyone, regardless of age, religion, continent or wealth. It is a journey to the roots of music, to the music of the world, to ancient improvisation from the times when there was no notation of notes, and multi-generation musical traditions were passed from father to son. Despite the development of civilisation, music remains the only universal language in the world.
It is supra-religious, multicultural music, created by outstanding Polish jazz and improvised music artists and guests from all over the world - artists from different cultural backgrounds, breaking stylistic and genre barriers in a virtuoso way. It is music open to dialogue, new music, music of freedom.
Grzech Piotrowski graduated from the prestigious Faculty of Jazz and Entertainment Music at the Academy of Music in Katowice with a degree in saxophone. Creator of World Orchestras and ensembles: Alchemik, Oxen, Jazz Deconstruction, Freedom Nation, Head Up. Winner of the Grand Prix at the Hoeilaart Jazz Festival in Belgium in 1998, Grand Prix at the Two Theatres Festival in Sopot for music to Skvorecki's play "Bass Saxophone", and first places at the festivals "Jazz on the Oder", "Pomeranian Jazz Autumn", "Jazz Juniors".
