Elitsa Todorova & Stoyan Yankoulov (Bulgaria)

 

Elitsa Todorova comes from Varna, she's a drummer and a singer. Her strongest advantage is an extraordinary voice and original, unprecedented style, in which the artist can synchronize singing with an exceptional playing on the percussion set. International media describes her as a mysterious and exotic vocalist. Elitsa has been concerting all over the world and she has gained many prestigious awards.

Stoyan Yankoulov, known as Stungy, is one of the best known and popular Bulgarian drummers and percussionists. For many years he has been a leader of the orchestra Big Band, playing for the Bulgarian Radio. He worked with many artists and concerted all over the world. Stoyan is known for his search of innovative forms: experimenting in connecting elements of percussion playing with traditional Bulgarian singing.

Stoyan and Elitsa – as a duo – has been working together for five years. Perfectionism and taking care of little details are their power. In February they won the national preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest, organised by the Bulgarian Public Television. Their song „Woda” - through originality, dynamics and magnetising voice of Elitsa – were much appreciated: on the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 they achieved the 5th place.
