Edward Orłowski / Poland

Folk fiddler. He was born in the heart of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, in the village of Bęczków, in the foot of Łysica. Very often he would go to weddings with his parents and listen to the melodies played by village bands, and thus he discovered that he wanted to play.

With the help of his grandfather he made his first “fiddle” out of a board, with two strings mounted on nails and tensioned with a piece of wood. He learned his first melodies by playing melodies sung to him by his grandmother on just one string. When it turned out that he is persistent and his melodies sound good, his father bought him his first real violin in Kielce. In his youth, the artist played at many village dance parties and several weddings.

The concert took place in 2016.
