Boban Markovic Orkestar (Serbia)

 

The band from Vladicin Han in southern Serbia has consistently been known as Serbia's best brass band for fifteen years; the group has recorded six albums so far and is also known for its participation in the films of Emir Kusturica (including „Underground”, „Arizona Dream”). The band draws inspiration from Serbian music, they play great not only at weddings, but also on big outdoor stages, combining rock energy with the highest instrumental virtuosity. They want to transform the world into a dance floor, where everybody can dance like they always did in their villages, when the rivers were clean. One critic wrote: "music can be for dancing, for listening, for the heart and for the soul; the music of Boban Markovic - you listen to it with all your body. "
